Boys of Summer
Being a mom makes you amazing. No matter whether you are the mom of a baby girl, 4 boys, your golden doodle or the very best aunt... you are amazing! Kids can be trying at times and one thing I have learned is that boy moms are pretty special. Boy moms can simply give you a look and you know you are eternally bonded through dirty hands, mud pies, and poop talk.
I have never said "Go play in the mud." I have never said, "I think it would be a good idea to dig through the gravel until you find tons of rollie pollies." I have never said, "Why yes, it would be a great idea to shove water balloons down your pants." It's just in their DNA...
Boys are simply made this way. They can't go outside without getting dirty. And boys only know one volume...LOUD.
The way they crawl in your bed in the morning and want to cuddle, the way you have to kiss their pinky toe after they stub it, or the way your hear little pitter patter feet running throughout the house... All things I want to remember, forever.

Will I remember the crazy hard days, and the days mommy threatens to go back to work full time?
Probably... but that is not what defines me as a mom. What defines me is these two amazing little people that I am responsible for raising and the never-ending love from Jesus Christ, my personal savior. If he can be patient with me in the midst of my mistakes or bad attitudes...I think I can strive to do the same with my children. I am reminded of that every time mommy needs a "time out" from the craziness.
But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe him and receive eternal life. 1 Timothy 1:16
THEY are the reason why I work so hard. THEY are the reason why I try my best in everything I do.
THEY are my reason...

Boys have inordinate amounts of energy, orneriness, and spunk. There is never a day where I don't say, "Don't touch your brother." "Don't jump on the couch." "Did you wipe?" or "Can mommy please go to the bathroom by myself." Those phrases are now just a permanent part of my vocabulary. I'm actually thinking about recording myself on my phone and just pushing play every time one of these situations arise. It might just work...
BUT... in the midst of all the craziness, one thing I know is that boys are simply amazing. Their zest for life, constant smiles, silliness, and giggles are what make me whole as a mama. They love with everything they have and they never (as of now...ha!) hesitate to give their mama a kiss.
